Agenda Item Text:

Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the City of Douglas to provide Planning Services including assistance with annexations, commercial and residential development, and general plan and zoning regulations updates, in the amount of $75 dollars per hour, billed on a monthly basis, effective immediately.

Background:

The City of Douglas currently does not have a community planner on staff.  The City of Douglas and the Development Services Department wishes to enter into an agreement to provide Planning services to the City of Douglas.  Planning services include assistance with annexations, commercial and residential development, and updating the City's General Plan and Zoning Regulations as needed.  In general, the Development Services Department currently has the capacity to provide services.  The City of Douglas will reimburse the County $75 per hour, billed on a monthly basis.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

If approved, the Department will coordinate with the City of Douglas to begin providing planning services.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If not approved, there will be no impact to the Department of Development Services.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

The City of Douglas City Council has already approved the IGA. Once I have a copy, I will provide it the clerk for signatures.  The attached IGA is a copy of the Douglas approved IGA.
