Approve Funding Agreement with the Arizona Supreme Court for Public Defender Training Funds, in the amount of $2,100, effective July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

Background:

In 1989 the Arizona Legislature enacted ARS 12-117 for the purpose of providing money to the Supreme Court to be distributed to county public defenders for training purposes. 

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

The Legal Defender will use the funding for training purposes. 

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If not approved the Legal Defender will depend solely on the county general fund for funding for mandatory continuing legal education credits for attorney staff.
