Agenda Item Text:
Approve a letter of support to Representative Kirkpatrick in strong support of her efforts to encourage the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to engage with State and local agencies, as well as the general public, with regards to border barrier construction projects in Cochise County.
Background:
The Board has heard from many of its constituents who are highly concerned about the potential impacts of border barrier construction in this region.
Area residents are particularly concerned about the lack of engagement between the federal agencies involved in this project and the general public. Cochise County has also not been made aware of, or consulted on, any site plans or construction timelines.
