Adopt an Intergovernmental Agreement to provide Building Inspection and Plan Review Services to Huachuca City at a rate of $60 per hour, effective upon signing by all parties for a one-year period, with automatic annual renewals.

Background:

Huachuca City requested the County provide building inspection services when their building inspector became ill.   

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

The Building Division has been providing services to Huachuca City for the past month.  This work was approved by County Management.  Once the IGA is approved, Staff will bill back the City for services already rendered.  We will continue to provide services as long as requested by the City.  Staff has and will continue to absorb these limited inpsections with no impact to county services.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The IGA provides services to the City and is not reciprocal.  County services would not be affected but the City would have to look for other jurisdicitons to provide the service or hire consultants.  

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

The IGA has been reviewed by the City and approved in form.  The final IGA would need to be routed to the City for signatures. Provide one copy of the executed IGA to the Planning Department, Building Safety Division.

This IGA establishes the fees the County would assess the City for inspection and plan review services. The fees are $60 per hour plus mileage for inspection services. The fees are collected monthly. The expected revenue from this service is estimated to be less than $500 per month.
