Agenda Item Text:
Approve Community Enhancement Fund expenditures for District 3: new transportation service in the northeastern section of the County providing transit between Bowie, San Simon, Willcox, Sunsites, Pearce, Bonita and Elfrida.
Background:
Supervisor Judd has submitted approval for one project: new transportation service in the northeastern section of the County providing transit between Bowie, San Simon, Willcox, Sunsites, Pearce, Bonita and Elfrida.
The requested funds of $13,158 will be used to provide match money toward the grant funded purchase of a 9 passenger, wheelchair accessible van. The vehicle will be used in a new transportation service in the northeastern section of the County providing transit between Bowie, San Simon, Willcox, Sunsites, Pearce, Bonita and Elfrida. Funding was arranged through SEAGO and the vehicle will be procured by ADOT.
County Administrator recommends approval of the funding, as the requested funds are a necessary but small one-time cost to initiate a program of significant public benefit in an underserved part of Cochise County. Several government agencies collaborated on the project and the County will have no ongoing obligation to fund any aspect of the program.
