Approve the Starliner Emergency Response Support Cost Recovery agreement between Cochise County and Boeing Aerospace Company. 

Background:

Boeing Aerospace Company is planning to conduct up to two space shuttle landings on the Willcox Playa annually.  These landings will require local emergency response assistance to mitigate the risk to the public.  When requested by Boeing local public safety agencies and county departments will support within their capability.  The attached agreement allows these agencies to request reimbursement for direct costs associated with supporting this project. 

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Send copies to respective agencies.  Prepare for landings and document costs for reimbursement from Boeing. 

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Support costs will be absorbed by the general fund budget.

Please have the Chairman sign the updated agreement (to be brought by Gabe on the date of the meeting) and return to Gabe Lavine in OES.
