Approve the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Grant Amendment AZ-H200016 submitted by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), changing the performance period to February 23, 2021 to February 22, 2024, from the original approved dates of March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2024.
Background:
In the regular meeting dated February 23, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved the HOPWA renewal grant # AZ-H200016 for the dates of 3.1.21 to 2.28.24 because the existing grant administered by the Housing Authority of Cochise County performance period did not expire until 2.28.21. HUD wants the new grant performance period to begin the date the grant was approved (2.23.21), although the new dates will overlap the previous grant period.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
The grant funding will be released by HUD for the department to begin drawing.

The grant funding may be in jeopardy.
