Approve Lease Agreement between Cochise County and the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, at the Bisbee-Douglas International Airport, for office space and fenced area to be used for vehicle storage, effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026.
Background:
Arizona State Forestry has leased office space at BDI for fire fighting crews since the 1980s. The fire fighting crews have been displaced since the terminal building remodel began in 2020. The County is providing a temporary office building for the next 12-months until Arizona State Forestry can move back into the terminal building once the remodel is complete.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Provide the lease agreement to Arizona State Forestry for signature.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Arizona State Forestry will longer be allowed to station their fire fighting crews at BDI.
