Approve the appointees to the 2021-2022 Redistricting Advisory Commission, as listed in attached Exhibit A.
Background:
At the Redistricting work session on February 2, 2021, the Board of Supervisors directed staff to coordinate the appointments to the 2021-2022 Redistricting Advisory Commission. The advisory commission will oversee the public process of redistricting and provide recommendations to the Board for approval.
The appointees would consist of:
The appointees would consist of:
- one member named by the mayor or city manager of each municipality; and
- two members named by each Board member from their respective districts.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Each member of the commission will receive an Oath of Office and OML overview training. BOS staff will assist the commission with meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The Redistricting Advisory Commission enhances public transparency of the Redistricting process. Without these appointments, the process will be further delayed and transparency will be lacking.

Coordinate with the Deputy Clerk of the Board to send Oath of Office and OML Overview to each RAC member.
