Agenda Item Text:
Approve a Grant Agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the amount of $22,000 to assist airport sponsors at the Bisbee-Douglas International Airport for the cost of operations and combating the spread of pathogens at the airport.
Background:
The County submitted to the FAA an Airport Rescue Grant Application dated June 23, 2021, for a grant of Federal funds at or associated with the Bisbee-Douglas Airport, which is included as part of this Airport Rescue Grant Agreement. An airport sponsor may use these funds for costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial services, combating the spread of pathogens at the airport, and debt service payments. These funds will assist airport sponsors to address the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
The Director of Development Services will sign the grant agreement and return to the FAA.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The County will not receive $22,000 for BDI Airport to support airport operations.
