Agenda Item Text:
Approve the reappointment of Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore, Terry Bannon, pursuant to ARS 12-141 and ARS 8-231, and authorize Court Administration to call upon an appropriately appointed Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore from another county in extenuating circumstances, pursuant to A.R.S. 12-144, effective July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
Background:
The court is required to obtain approval of the Judge Pro Tempore appointment with Board of Supervisors and the Arizona Supreme Court.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Reappointment of Superior Court Judge Pro Tem of Cochise County by Superior Court Presiding Judge and Arizona Supreme Court.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
We would need a new Juvenile Presiding Judge and new Judge for Division 6. This would cause delays in hearings and resolving cases.
