Agenda Item Text:
Approve Fiscal Year 2022 and Fiscal Year 2023 Funding Agreement between the Cochise County Superior Court and the Arizona Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) for federal reimbursement for reduction of case backlog activities provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for Reduction of Case Backlogs in the amount of $8,000, effective April 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
Background:
The prupose of the grant funding is to support the reduction of backlog cases by utilizing senior commissioners to conduct settlement conferences in the superior court for criminal and civil cases to reduce the number of cases set for jury trial.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Initiate the reduction in case backlogs by utilizing the services of senior commissioners and receive reimbursement for the cost of the commissioners from the AOC on a quarterly basis.

No funding for the Case Backlog Program
