Approve new Human Resources Policy 2235, Children in the Workplace, as written in the attachment, effective July 1, 2022.
Background:
The Human Resources Office is recommending the approval of a new policy, #2235: Children in the Workplace. This recognizes the County responsibility to provide a safe workplace free from unnecessary distractions and interruptions. In general, the policy determines that children shall only be allowed in the workplace for infrequent and brief visits, limiting disruption to the workplace.
The draft policy was shared with all county employees and feedback was favorable with no significant concerns expressed.
