Agenda Item Text:
Approve the appointees to the Jail District Public Outreach Committee, as listed in attached Exhibit A.
Background:
At the April 19, 2022 Board of Supervisors Meeting, the Board approved a Letter of Agreement with HighGround, Inc., for public affairs consulting and related services regarding a public involvement process for the Jail District process. The next step in the public involvement process is the formation of the Jail District Public Outreach Committee (Committee). The Committee will hold a series of public meetings regarding the Jail District process, and will ultimately make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors.
The attached Exhibit A provides the list of appointees. The Committee is expected to begin holding meetings in early August.
The attached Exhibit A provides the list of appointees. The Committee is expected to begin holding meetings in early August.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Each member of the commission will receive an Oath of Office and OML overview training. BOS staff will assist the commission with meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The Committee enhances the public involvement process. Without these appointments, the process will be further delayed and transparency will be lacking.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Coordinate with the Clerk of the Board to send Oath of Office and OML Overview to each Committee member.
