Approve Contract with Willcox Aviation, LLC, to provide Fixed Based Operator services at the Cochise County Airport in Willcox, effective January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2032, with two optional five-year extensions.
Background:
The current Fixed Based Operator, Waldon Aviation, is retiring after more than 30 years managing the Cochise County Airport. The County developed a request for proposals and selected Willcox Aviation LLC.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Support the transition of the FBO from Waldon Aviation to Willcox Aviation, LLC.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The airport will be left without an FBO and Cochise County staff is not prepared to assume the responsibilities of managing the airport.
