Agenda Item Text:
Approve Memorandum of Understanding between the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs - Arizona National Guard and Cochise County for cybersecurity consulting and assistance if needed.
Background:
A portion of the Arizona National Guard Cyber Joint Task Force (AZNG- CJTF) mission is to "provide a force capable of reducing vulnerabilities in state and local agency networks by providing on-going assistance with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and post-attack cyber incident response." Although we don’t have an immediate need for their assistance, having this agreement in place will remove one of the most significant obstacles to receiving this assistance in a timely manner. In the event of a cyberattack minutes can make a difference and having the right agreements in place can save days of effort during a critical time.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved provide signed copy of agreement to the Arizona National Guard.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Will not be able to get immediate support from the Arizona National Guard if needed.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Provide signed copy to IT Department.
