Approve proposals with Classic Roofing, under Maricopa County Contract 210137-S, and Trane Corporation, under Omnia Contract 15-JLP-023, for roof coating services and the replacement of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) units at 100 Colonia De Salud, Building B, in the amount of $441,631, effective January 24, 2023.

Background:

Due to the deterioration of the existing roof coating and age/condition of the current HVAC system, the Facilities Management Department would like to move forward with rehabilitation services at 100 Colonia De Salud, Bldg B in Sierra Vista, AZ.

If approved, the HVAC units will be replaced by Trane Corporation. In addition, Trane will install hardware and software that will allow the newly installed HVAC units to be monitored and adjusted remotely for a cost of $348,772. Trane is currently under Omnia Contract #15-JLP-023 and would qualify under Procurement rules to be used for this project.

After the existing HVAC units are removed and before the new units are installed, a new layer of roof coating will be applied by Classic Roofing. Classic Roofing is currently under Maricopa County Contract #210137-S and would qualify under Procurement rules to be used for this project. The cost of the roof re-coating is $92,859.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Staff will coordinate the project with both Trane Corporation and Classic Roofing.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The roof and HVAC units located at 100 Colonia De Salud, Bldg B in Sierra Vista would not be repaired and replaced in a timely manner, causing further damage.
