Approve First Amendment to Real Property Lease Agreement, to extend the Agreement term for one year through June 30, 2024, between Cochise County and Southeastern Arizona Governments Organization (SEAGO), a non-profit, 501(c)(3), for Area Agency on Aging (AAA) office space at County properties located in Benson, Douglas, and Sierra Vista.

Background:

The original, approved lease agreement term began on November 1, 2022 and ends on June 30, 2023. The approved lease agreement allows continuity of services to County residents by keeping SEAGO/AAA office locations at County buildings located in Benson, Douglas, and Sierra Vista for a sum of $560 per month, per location. This First Amendment is made to extend the Term of the Agreement for a period of one year (12 months), beginning July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Facilities has prepared the office space listed in the lease for this purpose. If approved, SEAGO will continue to be given access.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

SEAGO will not have office space in a county facility and the organization will need to locate other suitable space for the program. This may cause confusion to clients in the short term.
