Approve Contract 23-22-FAC-01 with Desert Springs Construction & Remodeling, LLC for the Finance Department Remodel in the amount of $117,500, effective July 11, 2023.

Background:

The Finance Director worked with Facilities Management in identifying a need to remodel the Finance Department workspace located at 1415 W Melody Lane, Building G in Bisbee, AZ. The current floor plan is problematic and allows a multitude of staff of varying departments to walk through the Finance Department's workspace. Finance staff currently work in confined, congested work areas and are doubled-up in offices. This remodel would take a large storage space that would be divided into individual offices and a conference room for the Finance Department.

Facilities Management worked with Procurement in issuing this requirement through the formal bidding process. The Procurement Department issued Request for Proposal 23-22-FAC-01 on June 9, 2023. All bidding vendors attended a site visit. Four vendors submitted proposals. All proposals were reviewed by Facilities, Finance, and Procurement with the winning bidder being Desert Springs Construction & Remodeling, LLC.

Issue Contract and Purchase Order to Desert Springs Construction & Remodeling, LLC and begin scheduling the work.
 

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If not approved, staff would continue to work in a confined space that allows employees from varying departments to walk through.
