Adopt Resolution 12-18 naming the polling locations for the voting precincts for the Primary Election to be held on August 28, 2012 and the General Election to be held on November 6, 2012.
Background:
The provisions under A.R.S. Section 16-411 provide that the Board of Supervisors establish the election precincts and designated polling locations. On December 20, 2011, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 11-52 that established the 49 election precincts.
The proposed polling locations have been reviewed with the Recorder's / Voter Registration staff and the Republican and Democratic party chairs.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Upon Board of Supervisor approval the Elections Department will submit the list of polling locations to the Department of Justice for approval under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, the County will not be in compliance with A.R.S. 16-411 and will not be in compliance with DOJ Voting Rights Act.

Provide the Elections Department with recorded copy of the Resolution and certified copy of the BOS minutes for submission to the DOJ.
