Approve the State of Arizona Mutual Aid Compact (AZMAC), which enables participants to share resources during emergencies, effective through December 31, 2033.
Background:
Counties are permitted to plan for emergencies and provide for mutual aid via ARS Title 26. The Arizona Mutual Aid Compact (AZMAC) provides a mechanism for organizations to quickly obtain emergency assistance in the form of personnel, equipment, materials, and other related services. The primary objective is to facilitate rapid, short-term deployment of emergency support prior to, during and after an incident. A signed agreement does not obligate the provision or receipt of aid, it serves as a guiding framework for requesting and providing mutual aid.
The AZMAC is revised every ten years, with this 2024 version being the newest.
