Approve Second Amended Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the City of Willcox for the operation of an animal shelter in the amount of $77,570 effective May 7, 2024, with a renewal option of three fiscal years.
Background:
It is in the best interests of both parties to continue to operate this facility and to conduct these activities jointly to maximize the public benefits that can result from the cooperative use of the resources that are available to each. The City of Willcox operates the animal shelter and pays for the costs of doing so. The County reimburses the City for its share based on its proportionate share of the animal population, which varies from year to year.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Continue utilizing the Willcox Shelter for Sheriff ACO impounds.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The costs for the partnership regarding the animal shelter will not be recuperated by Willcox and the agreement could end as a result.
