Agenda Item Text:
Approve contract for Architecture and Engineering Design Services, Part 1, between Cochise County and The Architecture Company (Richard Fe, Principal), for the animal shelter project located at 915 S. Tovreaville Road, Bisbee, AZ, in the amount of $65,000, effective May 7, 2024.
Background:
Contract is for Pre-design Services as described in Exhibit A. Funding allows for other optional services, such as a public charette, conceptual cost estimate with engineer narrative and CMAR coordination, to be added as the pre-design develops.
The project for the new Cochise County Animal Care & Control (CCACC) facility will provide animal housing, administrative offices, and veterinary services for primarily cats and dogs. The total project budget, including permits, design, construction fees, and contingency is $3,121,250. It is anticipated that the construction cost of the building to be approximately $2.4 million. An existing 5500+/- SF former juvenile delinquent facility will be remodeled to house the new animal control facility. Additionally, there is a double-wide modular also available for possible use.
The contract has been reviewed by USDA, per grant conditions.
