Approve Grant Agreement 3-04-0049-013-2024 for the construction of a Vertical/Visual Guidance System, Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI) at the Cochise County Airport, in the amount of $328,316, with a state and local share match of $16,117 each, effective upon acceptance.
Background:
The installation of the Vertical/Visual Guidance System (PAPI) at the Cochise County Airport will improve safety for pilots, particularly if approaching the runway at night.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Staff will coordinate with the FAA and the contractor with the notice to proceed and move forward with the installation of the PAPI at the airport.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The installation of the PAPA will not occur.
