Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) CTR070113 CDC Overdose Data to Action (OD2A), between the Arizona Department of Health Services and Cochise Health & Social Services, in the amount of $80,000, effective September 1, 2023 through September 31, 2024.
Background:
The original Overdose Prevention IGA, CTR063847, was combined with the State Opioid Response program. This fiscal year ADHS split the 2 programs into 2 separate IGAs. The SOR/Overdose Prevention IGA was recently approved on May 21, 2024.
The approval and funding from this CDC grant will assist CCHSS to address the opioid issues through prevention-based strategies; increase access to overdose prevention tools such as Naloxone, and coordinate post-release transportation services, and increase awareness of local service providers.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Your approvals are respectfully requested. Program will continue to distribute Naloxone, provide overdose recognition and response trainings.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Not approving this IGA would eliminate the ability to provide prevention-based strategies around opioid use and connect the residents of Cochise County to treatment resources to aid in a person’s recovery.
