Approve License Agreement for Graykey in the amount of $35,350.59, for use of a mobile device forensic analysis tool, effective June 28, 2024, through June 27, 2027.
Background:
This contract approval is connected to the Anti-Human Trafficking grant the Board of Supervisors approved on 6/4/24. We need board approval for a mult-year contract for their services.
Graykey is a cell phone tool which allows access and analysis of locked cell phones lawfully seized as part of a criminal investigation. The Sheriff's Office uses computer and cell phone forensic technology as a routine part of our investigations. The information we gather is a critical component of identifying child sex predators, human & drug trafficking organizations and a myriad of other criminal activity. Graykey offers unique capabilities not available with other mobile device forensic tools.

After purchase we will immediately begin using this capability to analyze mobile devices to further our investigations.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If it is not approved we will seek other funding for the same capabilities because it is critical to our ability to investigate criminal activity.
