Agenda Item Text:

Adopt Resolution 24-15 to amend the Cochise County Comprehensive Plan land use and growth area designations of 36 acres from Neighborhood Conservation to Rural Residential and Category C - Rural Community Areas to D - Rural Areas, and adopt Zoning Ordinance 24-11 to rezone tax parcel 208-44-047M from R-18 (Residential District, one dwelling per 18,000 square feet) to RU-4 (Rural District, one dwelling per 4 acres) pursuant to the application of Landon Farnsworth.

Background:

The County received concurrent requests from Landon Farnsworth (applicant) to change land use designations and zoning classification of tax parcel 208-44-047M from Neighborhood Conservation to Rural Residential; Growth Area C to Growth Area D; and, R-18 (Residential District, one dwelling per 18,000 square feet) to RU-4 (Rural District, one dwelling per 4 acres). The 36 acre parcel is located at 505 E. Firebrand Lane.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

The department will update the zoning map to reflect the new land use designations and zoning district classification.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The parcel will retain its current Comprehensive Plan designations and remain R-18. Future development will conform to applicable use, site development, and building code requirements of the R-18 zoning district.
