Agenda Item Text:
Approve Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management Cooperative Agreement for reimbursement of County resources used for incident support, effective for a period of (10) ten-years from the date of final signature.
Background:
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) is requesting approval of a Cooperative Agreement with Cochise County. The State Forester wishes to enter into a Cooperative Agreement for the protection of forests and wild lands, and assistance with fire and non-fire national, state, and county emergencies and multi-agency logistical support in this state and other states. DFFM provides wild land fire services to state land and private properties which are located outside of Fire Districts/municipal limits within Cochise County.
This agreement sets expectations and procedures for: resource ordering/logistics support; use and reimbursement of County resources; and establishes the County Emergency Manager as the coordinator for all County Departments for the agreement.
Agreement will be in effect for ten years from date of final signature and may be canceled by either Party upon 30 day notice.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Receive signed document, send to DFFM.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
County will lack expectations and procedures for use of and reimbursement of County resources in an emergency, and lack coordination with DFFM in resource ordering or logistics support.
