Agenda Item Text:

Approve Community Enhancement Fund FY25 expenditures for District 3 and inter-fund transfer to Development Services to meet the County match for Grant Award No. 693JJ32440373 from the Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) to place electric vehicle charging stations around Cochise County, in the amount of $25,000.

Background:

Per request from Dan Coxworth to support tourism - in partnership with City of Willcox, where this is a valuable addition to our downtown area.

On July 9, the Board approved the grant award from FHWA for the installation of seven electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The charging stations will be installed at four locations in the County: two EV chargers at the Cochise County Melody Lane complex, Bisbee; two chargers at the Colonia de Salud County complex, Sierra Vista; one charger at the Foothills County facility, Sierra Vista; and two at the Willcox City Hall / Visitors Center, Willcox.

These funds are intended to partially meet the County match of $125,000.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Budget (Juan Frisby) and Grants (John Boswell) will make appropriate inter-fund transfer.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If County match is not secured, then the project cannot move forward.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

Provide approved form and action minutes to budget for processing.
