Agenda Item Text:

Approve the designation of Albert Echave as the Alternate Applicant's Authorized Representative to the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, which designates the County representative for applying for certain public assistance and authorizes the alternate applicants authorized representative to execute and deliver said application on behalf of Cochise County.

Background:

Approve the designation of Albert Echave as the Alternate Applicant's Authorized Representative to the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, which designates the County representative for applying for certain public assistance and authorizes the alternate applicants authorized representative to execute and deliver said application on behalf of Cochise County.

Public Asstance and Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs allow Cochise County to receive grant funds or financial assistance due to expenses incurred during County and State declared emergencies. To participate in these grant programs, Cochise County must designate an Applicant's Authorized Representative.

This is a standing designation as Applicant's Authorized representative, in preparation for future emergencies, and not in relation to any one emergency.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Department will submit signed forms and minutes to Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Cochise County will not be able to participate in Public Assistance or Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

Signed forms and official minutes to EM director.
