Adopt Resolution 24-18 that authorizes the Development Services Department to submit a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) State Special Projects grant application to the Arizona Department of Housing to fund owner-occupied housing repairs in Cochise County.
Background:
The Board of Supervisors previously authorized the submission of Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) grant applications to fund Owner-Occupied Housing Repair in the amount of $765,855.00. There is great need for Owner-Occupied Housing Repair in Cochise County and to date, all of these funds have been expended once the income-qualified pending projects are constructed. ADOH funds grant recipients for State Special Projects once every two (2) years. This request is to authorize the Development Services Department to submit a State Special Projects grant application to ADOH to fund Owner-Occupied Housing Repairs.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, the Development Services Department will submit an Arizona Department of Housing State Special Project grant application to fund housing repair in Cochise County.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If this request is not approved, there will not be additional funding for Owner-Occupied Housing Repair in Cochise County.
