Adopt Resolution 12-20 cancelling the election of certain Precinct Committeeman for the 2012 Primary Election and appointing all candidates that filed to run for Precinct Committeeman in which no election is required.
Background:
A.R.S. 16-822(B) provides for the cancelling of the election for Precinct Committeeman provided the number of nominating petitions is less than or equal to the number precinct committeeman positions.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If adopted, the Elections Department will provide each Precinct Committeeman with a Certificate of Appointment.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Election would need to be held to elect nominated Precinct Committeeman.
