Accept issuance of two spools of technical rescue rope from the Tucson Fire Department, awarded and purchased from the State Homeland Security Grant Program.

Background:

The Tucson Fire Department received an award from the State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP 240405-02) for technical rescue equipment for public safety organizations in the southern region of Arizona. Cochise County Emergency Management, in partnership with local area Fire Districts, Fire Departments and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue (SAR) team participate in this technical rescue working group based out of Tucson Fire Department for equipment, grants, operations, training and exercises.

As part of this award, Cochise County requested and is to receive two spools of technical rescue rope (8.0mm x 200m Sterling CanyonLux) with an estimated value of $3,400 ($1,700 each x quantity 2). Tucson Fire Department receives the grant award, purchases the equipment and issues the equipment to requesting organizations in the South Region.
