Agenda Item Text:

Approve the sale of a 2004 GMC C-1500 Truck, declared surplus by the Fleet Management Department, to the City of Douglas in the amount of $3,000.

Background:

A 2004 GMC C-1500 Truck was declared surplus by the Fleet Management Department and put up for public auction. The City of Douglas contacted the County and asked if they could purchase the vehicle outright in lieu of bidding on it through the public auction process. A sale price of $3,000 was negotiated. The vehicle information is as follows:

(1) 2004 GMC C-1500 Truck, VIN# 1GTEC14V34E232142, 176,479 miles

In accordance with ARS§11-251, a county may with unanimous consent of the board, without public auction, sell or lease any county property to any other duly constituted governmental entity, including the state, cities, towns and other counties. The Fleet Management Director has made a determination that $3,000 is a reasonable offer based on current market conditions.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Prepare bill of sale, transfer title of vehicle to the City of Douglas. Collect and deposit monies from sale.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The City of Douglas would have to bid on this vehicle at public auction.
