Agenda Item Text:
Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) GRA-STATE-24-1242-01-Y2 between the Early Childhood Development and Health Board (First Things First) and Cochise County Health & Social Services to provide child care center health consultations county-wide, effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, in the amount of $138,420.
Background:
Cochise County Health & Social Services has received funding, renewed annually, from First Things First since FY 2015. This grant allows two part-time CCHSS employees to provide child care health consulting throughout the county, including provision of information and guidance to assist child care centers in meeting the needs of children in their programs.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, CCHSS will continue to provide child care health consultation services throughout the county for the updated project period.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, CCHSS will not be able to provide health consultation to Cochise County child care centers, which could potentially compromise child safety.
