Approve policy/procedure for the establishment of a County Merit Award System Board and establishment of such Board.
Background:
As per the recommendation of the Arizona Auditor General, to make any merit award distribution compliant with A.R.S. 38-614, the Board of Supervisors is required to appoint a Merit System Award Board to oversee the operations and distribution of any merit awards.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Present recommendations to the members of a Merit System Award Board. Merit System Award Board will review and make its own recommendations to the BOS at a future meeting

Loss of opportunity to award employees for ideas and procedures resulting in cost-savings to the county or in an improvement of County operations in the public interest.
