Publishing of the Annual Listing of Obligated Projects for the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2020

SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:

Federal regulations require an annual listing of transportation improvement projects for which federal funds have been obligated in the most recently completed FFY 2020, which covers the period between October 1, 2019 - September 30, 2020. Federal law requires these projects be published or otherwise made available by the MPO for public review.

The Annual Listing of Obligated Projects includes two portions: highway and transit. The highway portion was prepared by the Florida Department of Transportation and MPO. The transit portion was developed by the MPO in coordination with public transportation operators. The full Annual Listing of Obligated Projects can be viewed and downloaded from the MPO’s website at: http://browardmpo.org/index.php/core-products/transportation-improvement-program-tip (please refer to the link titled "Annual Listing of Obligated Projects Federal Fiscal Year 2020" towards the middle of the page). Please note the positive amounts denote expenditures of Federal funds on an identified project, while negative amounts means previously obligated funds have been removed from the project to reflect changes to the project cost, delays, or cancellations.

The report contains detail regarding projects obligated during FFY 2020. However, some highlights include:
  • $67,751,488 in Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funds is committed to 129 projects in the Broward region.
  • $286,576,295 in Federal Transit Administration funds is committed to public transit operators Broward County Transit and the South Florida Regional Transit Authority, and Broward MPO Mobility Hubs.
