Mobility Projects Update

SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:

The MPO's Mobility Program began in 2012 as part of the 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan and serves as the implementation arm of the MPO's Complete Streets Initiative. The main intention of this Program is to move bicycle and pedestrian projects from planning to design and ultimately to construction based on transportation needs, such as gaps in the existing network. Mobility Program projects have been and continue to be incorporated into many MPO plans such as the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program, and Complete Streets Master Plan. The MPO has partnered with the Florida Department of Transportation for the implementation of projects from the Mobility Program.

To raise awareness of the work being done as part of the Mobility Program, MPO staff has prepared an update on recent projects. This update includes projects that were completed since July 2020, projects that are planned for programming, projects that are currently in the design phase, and projects that are in the construction phase.

At the upcoming meeting, MPO staff will provide a brief update on the status of Mobility Program projects and address any questions or comments. For the PowerPoint presentation, please see the Attachment.
