Hearing of the Application for a Line of Duty Death for Gerald "Jerry" Bills

STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION

Discuss and vote on the Line of Duty Death application for Gerald Bills. 

Executive Summary:

Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) and other applicable agencies require Local Board approval to formally designate a death as a Line of Duty Death. This designation ensures that eligible survivor benefits are administered in accordance with statutory requirements and agency policies. As part of the review process, an independent medical examination was completed to evaluate the circumstances and medical factors related to the death. The Local Board’s review and determination confirm whether the circumstances meet the criteria established under PSPRS and applicable law.
