Discussion of Fee for Public Use of City-Owned Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff will seek direction from City Council on potential fee structures for public use of City-owned electric vehicle charging stations.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In response to requests of the City Council, staff will provide an informational presentation on the City of Flagstaff-owned public electric vehicle charging stations and seek direction from the Council on appropriate fee structures for public use of these charging stations. No action will be taken at this meeting. Feedback from the City Council will be used to inform future program policy.
INFORMATION:
The City of Flagstaff provides 18 electric vehicle charging stations for the public to use across four City facilities: City Hall, the Visitor’s Center, the Aquaplex, and the Airport. All of these public stations were installed through the Arizona Public Service (APS) Take Charge AZ Pilot Program. Currently, there is no fee to use these charging stations, however, the City has the ability to implement fees for use if deemed appropriate by City Council.
