Ratification: Letter of Opposition on HB2770
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Ratify the Council's direction on March 9, 2021 to send a Letter of Opposition on HB2770
Executive Summary:
In line with the Flagstaff City Council’s legislative priorities, a letter of opposition has been written for House Bill 2770, which asserts that a business is not required to enforce a mask mandate that is established by the state, a city, town, or county. The Flagstaff City Council views the required use of face masks in a public place as a reasonable and effective tool in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 and is therefore in opposition to House Bill 2770. The letter of opposition will be distributed to the appropriate Arizona state senators.
