TITLE:
Consideration and Approval of Contract: Cooperative Purchase Contract with AZ Wastewater Industries, Inc. in the amount of $589,799.99, plus other fees and taxes, for one 12 Yard Truck Mounted Sewer Combination Cleaner for the Wastewater Collection Section.
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
- Request approval of a Cooperative Purchase Contract with AZ Wastewater Industries, Inc. in the amount of $589,799.99, plus other fees and taxes, for one 12 Yard Truck Mounted Sewer Combination Cleaner for the Wastewater Collection Section; and
- Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents.
Executive Summary:
This new unit will be replacing Wastewater Collection's, S4-018, a 2006 Super Products Camel 12-yard combination truck. The existing and proposed equipment is used daily for routine and emergency response, during and after-hours, for sanitary sewer system maintenance.
This new unit will be up-fitted with emergency lights, radio, and CradlePoint Wi-Fi unit. Water Services and the Wastewater Collection Section have a huge community presence and this new unit will assist staff's efforts to keep up with ever-growing community demands by ensuring that we have the right equipment, tools, and staff to meet the community demands. Much of what Water Services does, directly relates to the health and safety of the citizens of Flagstaff and its surrounding communities.

Financial Impact:
The 12 Yard Truck Mounted Sewer Combination Cleaner will be purchased by the Wastewater Collection Section of the Water Services Division. FY2023-24 budget for this purchase will come from the following two accounts: # 203-08-313-1130-0-4401 for $200,000 and #203-08-313-1132-0-4401 for $450,000.00.

This purchase will increase efficiencies for routine and emergency sanitary sewer system maintenance.

Community Benefits and Considerations:
Sourcewell, a State of Minnesota local government agency, Procurement Section, Public Sector conducted a competitive and open procurement process through Request for Proposal Solicitation No. #101221 that resulted in Contract #101221-SCA with AZ Wastewater Industries, Inc. The City of Flagstaff Procurement department has verified the cooperative purchase contract as valid and appropriate and presents the best value to the City.
Community Involvement:
This new unit for the Wastewater Collection Section will improve efficiencies by replacing an existing unit that is heavily aged, with a new modern and more reliable piece of critical equipment, that will be used for routine and emergency sanitary sewer system maintenance.
