SUBJECT:

Request for consideration to waive the fees associated with lot clearing lien against 1111 N 16th Street, Ft. Pierce, FL 34946 - Parcel ID Number 2404-809-0006-000-1 previously owned by D.A.D, Inc., P. O. Box 673, Ft. Pierce, FL and currently owned by Virginia Stewart, Howard J. Lurry Sr., Lee Roy Lurry, 5103 San Diego Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL 34946.  The owner is requesting the total amount of fees including city incurred charges, administrative fees, interest, and penalties in the amount of $539.58 be waived.

SUMMARY:

The request is to waive all fees associated with the lot clearing lien including city incurred charges, interest, penalties and administrative fees. The lien was in place in 1978 prior to Ms. Stewart's father purchasing the property.  The lien was not discovered when the Ship Program conducted a lien search.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends waiving interest, penalties, and administrative fees in the amount of $384.58 contingent upon payment of balance in the amount of $155.00 payable in 30 days.

ALTERNATIVES:

Approve applicants request for waiver.
Accept Staff's recommendation of reduction.
Determine alternative amount.
