Unveiling of the Highwaymen License Plate.

The HB 1135, which includes the creation of a Highwaymen License Plate, became effective October 2020. Since that time former State Representative Larry Lee and the Original Florida Hall of Fame Highwaymen have worked together to create a design. The design was recently approved and is ready to unveil to the community. Before the Division of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will manufacture the tag, 3,000 vouchers must be pre-sold by October 15, 2022. A portion of proceeds will be shared with the St. Lucie Education Foundation, Inc. to fund area education and art projects. The remaining proceeds must be used by the City of Fort Pierce to fund the day-to-day operations of the Highwaymen Museum and African American Cultural Center.

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
