SUBJECT:
Approval of S.R. A1A Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement (MMOA) Amendment No. 1 between the City of Fort Pierce and the Florida Department of Transportation.
SUMMARY:
As part of the A1A roadway project (U.S. Highway 1 to Blue Heron Boulevard) the City entered into a maintenance agreement with FDOT. This agreement stipulates that the maintenance responsibilities of all hardscape and landscape installed within FDOT's right-of-way is the maintenance responsibility of the City. The purpose of this amendment is to modify the original agreement to include the stamped concrete crosswalk and the truncated brick domed pavers that are to be situated within the proposed Porpoise Avenue Beach Access Parking Lot exit driveway.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval.
ALTERNATIVES:
Deny and provide a painted crosswalk and ADA mats which will not provide continuity along SR A1A.
