Re: Approval of Award Agreement for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Project Safe Neighborhood

SUBJECT:

Approval and acceptance by the City of Fort Pierce for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) FY22 – Project Safe Neighborhoods – Southern District of Florida (PSS) Grant Program, award number 3H006 in the amount of $75,000 to be used to purchase specialized equipment and overtime for officers.

SUMMARY:

The Department has tentatively been awarded the funding opportunity Florida Department of Law Enforcement FY22—Project Safe Neighborhoods—Southern District of Florida (PSS-SDFL). The approved award amount is $75,000. Having the City Mayor sign the Award Agreement is a requirement for accepting the award.

This grant does not require a match.

The document has been submitted to the City Attorney’s Office and has been approved for Form and Correctness. The attached award contains the correct date for the EEO Certification date of 8/25/2024.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of the Award Agreement.

ALTERNATIVES:

Do not approve the Award Agreement; subsequently, funds will not be awarded.
