SUBJECT:

FPRA Resolution 26-20 Interlocal Funding Agreement Between the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency and the City of Fort Pierce or Code Enforcement Officers in an Amount Not to Exceed $183,200

SUMMARY:

FPRA Resolution No. 26-20 authorizes the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Fort Pierce to fund enhanced code enforcement services within the Redevelopment Area. The agreement establishes a one-year pilot program in which the FPRA will provide funding for two dedicated Code Enforcement Officer positions focused on proactive, targeted enforcement beyond the City’s baseline service level.

The enhanced enforcement program is intended to support redevelopment goals identified in the FPRA Redevelopment Plan, including eliminating blight, improving property maintenance and neighborhood aesthetics, reducing public safety hazards, and encouraging private investment. Under the Interlocal Agreement, the City’s Code Enforcement Division will hire, supervise, and administer the two positions, while the FPRA will fund the additional personnel costs.

FPRA REDEVELOPMENT PLAN GOAL/POLICY

FPRA Plan Goal 22 — The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency shall identify and demolish decrepit/unsound structures which contribute to blight and pose safety and health risks to Redevelopment Area visitors and residents.
FPRA Plan Goal 24 — The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency shall reduce the occurrence of abandoned vehicles, illegal dumping and littering within the Redevelopment Area, along with any other forms of blight/hazards.
