SUBJECT:
Approval of the following contributions: $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County, $1,000 to The Northside Bat and Ball Little League Baseball, Incorporated, $1,000 to the In the Image of Christ, Incorporated, and $1,000 to the New Life Christian Fellowship Church from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
SUMMARY:
According to Florida State Statute 932.7055, the police department is required to spend twenty-five percent (25%) of Law Enforcement Trust Fund revenues from forfeitures and seizures each year in support of crime prevention activities. The requested contributions will provide meaningful support to community based activities.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of contributions requested.
ALTERNATIVES:
The alternative is to deny the request to support our community based activities.
