The City Manager has initiated the creation of the Economic Development Advisory Committee to foster cross-departmental collaboration and leverage staff expertise to identify innovative revenue streams, efficiency improvements, and strategic opportunities for the City. The committee brings together representatives from Finance, Planning, Public Works, City Attorney, Building Safety, Community Services, Business License, and Housing to ensure a holistic approach incorporating financial, operational, legal, community, and planning perspectives. The committee’s goal is to maximize economic development opportunities, improve revenue collection and efficiency, and develop innovative programs that support the City’s long-term financial health. By drawing on the knowledge and experience of multiple departments, the City aims to identify creative solutions, such as leveraging ground leases, naming rights, EV infrastructure partnerships, and updated development fees, while maintaining a focus on community benefits and sustainability. This committee aligns with the City’s commitment to innovation, proactive planning, and multi-department collaboration as foundational strategies to drive economic growth and enhance the quality of services delivered to the community.

- Evaluate Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) opportunities.
- Review billboard and digital signage agreements (WOW and City-owned).
- Explore EV charging station partnerships.
- Consider naming rights for parks, fields, and City facilities.

- Technology & Efficiency Revenue Capture
- Implement compliance improvements generating 2–5% additional revenue.
- Utilize ground leases for long-term revenue streams (e.g., old Public Works yard).
- Improve collections on past-due receivables.
