Award of Contract for Moneta Garden Mobility Improvements (Project # 22-08).
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff recommends that the City Council award contract to lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Sequel Contractors, Inc. of Santa Fe Springs, CA.
DISCUSSION:
At the meeting of April 14th, 2026, City Council authorized Engineering Staff to public re-advertise for this project with a due date of May 12th, 2026. The City received six bids with each accompanied by bid bonds. After a thorough review of the proposal, reference checks, and verification of the contractor’s license, staff determined that Sequel Contractors, Inc. of Santa Fe Springs, CA was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
The work consists of construction of ADA ramps, sidewalks, driveways, traffic striping including parking Ts, regrading of street surface, illuminated flashing stop signs, street storm water BMPs system, Traffic Signal upgrades and all other work necessary to complete the improvements in accordance with the Plans and Specifications.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN:
The project is a result of the City working closely with funding and regulatory agencies to support and improve our infrastructure.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. The approximate cost of $3,971,450.00 will be funded through the allocated and approved Measure M Grant and local share funds.
